Having the same problems, logged in friday morning and was fine, got home from work friday evening and had to download new version/update and have been lagging stupidly ever since.
I normally have a ping of about 60-100, 150 tops 99% of the time, but am pushing a few thousand most of the time.
Am on uk servers, just glad i bought rainbow 6 vegas so sony can get some of my attention for a while
Please fix a-net!!

Network News
Lag Issues – 1 July
We wanted to let players know that we are aware that some of them have experienced latency (lag) over the last few days when playing Guild Wars. The issue is affecting many services that route through the Internet hub in Frankfurt, Germany. Our network teams report that resolving the issue is, unfortunately, outside our direct control but they are tracking the issue and doing what they can to prioritize the matter and to assist in resolving it. We apologize for the inconvenience and will do what we can to assure that this will be resolved as soon as possible.

Although I agree to the fact that the problem occurs in frankfurt somewhere, I wonder whether its a real HUB or the host of ANets servers.
I ran quite some tracert and except for some spikes in Ping the problem arises after it (average ping 60-70 ms). From then on its impossible to get IMCP echo commands back, Probably because a firewall or something in between doesn't allow it. This indicates in my opinion that it is not concerning public routes anymore, and that it is either the host of Anets servers or the servers themselves.
I ran a few games in international district where the ping is naturally high but it was initially without lag spikes (server in states i believe). After the first match the lag spikes came up again, but I didn't catch which server hosted us there the second time.
Disclaimer: tracert doesnt determine the exact routes, but the most efficient route, however repetitive tracert should show that the route is indeed clear for usage until the host, it is unlikely that the real route is routed via a troubled connection.

The lag is so bad here in the Netherlands that I couldn't play for the whole weekend. When I play I constandly freeze for a few seconds and pings are arround 3k or higher. Hope they gonna fix it fast.

I could add some of those reports too! tried the ab event, but was insane trying to: was long killed before it showed on my screen (= lagspikes up to 23000 ping)
I hope it gets fixed soon, haven't had a decent gw play time since the latest update last week around wednesday.

My issue was something on my ISP's end, and has been fixed. Please ignore my other post in this thread.

Lol, the lag is back. Google, and other international sites are working well, guru if not overpopulated does well too.
Just standing at the guild hall, or being in observer mode gives me lag spikes. No , it is different. Sometimes i have spikes of low ping, usually I lag. I don't know what it is, but it is clear that this is not a simple ISP problem, and it even persists after the weekend, something I actually didn't expect.

Thats a pertty ignorant statement from Anet there, i know it isn't their problem if its isp related, but to ignore the claims of similar lag from hundreds of people that are thousands of miles away from Frankfurt, Germany. Well, what can i say.

On thursday i was getting lag a bit worse than i would normally get but i was still between green and orange occasionally red, its only since friday ive not actually been able to play the game.
I agree with the anet comment i live in the uk not germany and if american/australlian players are having the problem to it could be something else surely.
Please fix it soon im going mental.
